Photo Exhibition - December 2008 (writings on leaflet given on spot)

This is not just another exhibition of «beautiful pictures». It is something more than that. It is an exhibition that tries to communicate a mode of awareness, a modus Vivendi: Travellism. The photographs are the medium of communicating this bigger message that comes directly out of my personal experience. It is the most meaningful message that I wish to disseminate.
This exhibition is not just about me. It has come about from all the people that surround me, affect me, teach me, touch me, disturb me. Everything that constitutes my environment. Some have contributed to a greater extent (family+friends) and some to a lesser (pals, acquaintances, people passing by me). Part of the message is precisely this: That the world in which I always find myself in is personal but already beyond my individual existence.
Travellism. One must be able to use their freedom to reach out. I have always been intrigued by travelers and always seized the chance for a trip. To take advantage of my freedom for exposing myself to cultures, natures, ideas. The freedom to follow the signs. Every person has their own signs that they could follow. This exhibition represents the signs that I followed. It is the path that the succession of these signs created. In the end, I was the receiver of an immensely rewarding pleasure. This exhibition is the ultimate payout of this daring experience.

Siga la seƱal! Follow the sign! Which sign? The sign that is inside of you calling you to venture out into the world. The journey need not be a physical journey, it can also be a mental one. For example, it can be realized through the reading of a succession of books. You are free to explore many dimensions.
Follow your own route, not anyone else’s route. If your signs turn left, you go left. If they turn right, go right. This small world is greater than you think and it reveals itself in strange ways. You only have to follow the signs that lead beyond your everydayness. It's not easy to overcome the limits of everyday safety. But it’s not so complicated and not so risky either. And it’s the only way to experience the greatness of this small world. Meet new people. Your own new people. People that were not introduced to you by someone you already know.
So what is Travellism? It’s a bug that makes one wonder. That makes one dare to travel beyond and wander anew. And enables them to actualize the great human capacities for discovering the World.
